Hi again,
We just returned from a week-long road trip exploring New Zealand's outback.
We began with a day trip to the Omanua Falls in Tauranga, which was a lovely day out with Christine and Fred. The following day we experienced a delay when we discovered a flat back tyre on the double axle. During the repair, it was found that the front tyre also needed to be replaced.
We finally set off for Otorohanga on Thursday after visiting the Maungatautari Sanctuary near Putaruru. We spent one night at the Kiwi Holiday Park in Otorohanga, where we received a discount for being Gold Card members.
From there, we drove to Marokopa Falls and the natural bridge. The waterfall was truly amazing—so wide and large—and the natural bridge offered spectacular scenery. When we arrived in Marokopa, we found it completely isolated with no shops or petrol stations. We stayed at a Kiwi Camp which now uses the "Penny Card" pre-pay system.
