Kibbutz life of Ein Harod-Ihud

After the visit to Cheryl Burlow, and my last night in Tiberias hotel Restal, I drove to Ein Harod-Ihud, a big kibbutz.
In 1923, the group established a kibbutz named for the spring (Ein Harod, "Harod Spring" ), which is mentioned in the Bible in connection with judge Gideon (Judges 7:1). While it's sometimes considered that Ein Ḥarod was founded in 1921 and Tel Yosef in1923, the fact remains that together they formed one farming unit.
While it's sometimes considered that Ein Ḥarod was founded in 1921 and Tel Yosef in 1923, the fact remains that together they formed one farming unit.[3] In 1924, the Ein Harod group was joined by members of the Havurat HaEmek group. In 1925, under the leadership of Yitzhak Tabenkin, Ein Harod became the center of countrywide kibbutz movement joined by members of YagurAshdot Yaakov and Ayelet HaShahar, forming the basis of HaKibbutz HaMeuhad. Ein Harod became the organizational headquarters of the movement.[citation needed] In 1926, during a breakup of the Gdud HaAvoda along ideological faultlines separating the Marxists from the more moderate leftists, Ein Harod and Tel Yosef ceased their close cooperation.[3][8]
n 1930, when the collective moved to a permanent location at the foot of Kumi Hill, the kibbutz had 239 members.
The village played an important role in the defence of the area during the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine, known by the Jews of the era as "the disturbances," during which it was the base of Orde Wingate's Special Night Squads.[1] In 1945 the Haganah had a small prison there in which they detained members of the Irgunduring the Season.[9] However, on 29 June 1946, as part of Operation Agatha, the British army occupied the kibbutz by force.[1] By 1947 it had a population of 1,120.[1]

Palmach training at Ein Harod, 1947
In 1952, in the wake of ideological differences between supporters of the two main socialist parties, Mapai and Mapam, the kibbutz split, creating two separate kibbutzim: Ein Harod (Ihud), affiliated with Mapai and belonging to Ihud HaKvutzot veHaKibbutzim; and Ein Harod (Meuhad), affiliated with Mapam and belonging to HaKibbutz HaMeuhad. Today both kibbutzim belong to the United Kibbutz Movement.
So I stayed with the Ein Hrod Ihud kibbutz.

Above, their 50 metre Olympic size pool Left, my unit that I stayed in for 5 days.
Kitchen, one bedroom and one other room.

That was a bit of information from Wikipedia.
I stayed 5 nights here and that was in return for us having hosted their 2 sons ( 2 different families but family friends) in December 2017)
It was so good that I had a car. So good. I got used to driving on the right side pretty fast.
The boys( Ben and Bar) took me out to Mount Tabor, apparently the mountain where Jesus was transfigured before the eyes of disciple John and Peter.
They also took me to Megiddo, it is an archeological site and it was closed but we could see through the fence.

It is the place( and the whole valley) where the last battle of Armageddon will be held in the future.
And the next day Ben's mum Margie and I went back to the Sea of Galilee to see the Christian sites that I hadn't seen 2 years ago and even the few days ago. So I drove and she came along too, which was very nice. First stop was at the baptismal site of the Jordan river. Second place we went to was to go for a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee with Galilee Sailing. A nice little wooden boat and David, the captain, took us to almost the middle of the lake and then we were allowed to jump off and swim for a bit.
He threw us some " noodles" so we could float and play a bit. The water was so warm, even in the middle it would have been 26 C.

We had a great time swimming and fooling around. Then back onboard for some more sailing.
Once back on land, we headed for a nearby restaurant and had some lunch( sushi)
After that nice lunch we went to a Christian site called" Mount of Beatitudes. It was a drive up to a hill and then a nice church to visit. Outside was 38 C. Very hot. The view was great, and to think Jesus would have seen this view too. probably less trees but same view. He spoke the sermon on the Mount, in

Matthew 5:1-7:27 King James Version (KJV)

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Before I came to the Kibbutz, when I stayed 1 night in Tiberias, I managed to see Capharnaum, Jesus hometown, and Tagba, where Jesus  had  fed the 5000 people with just 5  loaves and 5 fishes and Magdala ( hometown of Mary Magdalene)
And went to Ginosar  to an excavated synagogue where Jesus may have preached, see a Sea of Galilee fishing boat from Jesus’ time, believed to be 2000 years old, and visit two sites of Biblical miracles.

Back to my day with Margie, after the Mount of Beatitudes, we decided to drive back, not via Tiberias but around the other way so that we done a full circle around the lake. We drove very close to the border with Jordan and we could see the villages in Jordan.
After we came back I had a swim in their 50 metre long swimming pool.
They have a milking dairy herd, 400 cows, and 1000 sheep, they also milk, and 10.000 acres of cropping, and a factory that makes industrial dishwashers( huge one like for big hotels) and also manufacture cooling agents for night vision equipment for the NASA probe and other military equipment.
So this is how they are funded, all members have benefits and non members work and get paid.( like family members and they employ people from neighbouring villages.
